My Favorite Valentine's Crafts and Ideas from Other Sites

Here are some wonderful Valentine’s Day related blog entries and a cool website I found around the web.

Zillions of Valentine’s Day crafts and cookie projects are on Skip to My Lou. I have pictured my favorite one below.

Out of the Office has an amazing idea for a photo card with lollipop that jumps off of the page.

Activity Mom has Three Quick and Easy Heart Activities. JDaniel and I are going to do the heart hunt.

Make your own message on a graphic candy heart . You could spend hours creating these.

24/7 Moms have 14 Valentines Day Traditions and Celebrations For Families. I love their hot chocolate bar activity.

Our Country Road has a great sensory bucket activity for Valentine's Day. This idea could be used in for any holiday or unit of study. If you like her idea, you may be able use it for St. Patrick's Day or Easter.

Have fun checking them out. If you have an activity posted you would like me to take a look at, please leave the link for it in a comment. I will stop by and check it out.

Valentine’s Exchange Results! I Exchanged with Country Mouse, City Mouse

In January I signed up to be part of Mommy Files' Blogger's Valentine's Day Swap. I was so fortunate to get assigned someone whose blog I regularly follow and admire. Country Mouse, City Mouse blogger Pam hosts great giveaways and writes wonderful blog entries about her family.

What did Pam send? She sent the most delicious chocolate lollipops and a cookie. (These items no longer exist.) She also sent a great Valentine’s Day cloth bag, note pad, a cool sign and three cookie cutters. The bag is so cute. We will be able to use it in so many ways at my house. The note pad will be used for my grocery list. The cookie cutters have already been used to decorate my Muffin Tin Monday this week and will be used to create next week’s tin too. This time I will actually make some fun heart shaped foods for JDaniel. Watch for the sign to appear later this week.

Thanks Pam for your wonderful gifts! We have enjoyed it all.

Valentine's Day Decorated Oatmeal Container with Many Uses

I drew the hearts on the paper. JDaniel helped with coloring and adding stickers to this oatmeal container.

Now what can we do with it?
  • Fill it with a present for my husband

  • Line it with a plastic bag that comes with the newspaper and make it a vase

  • Put pictures we find in magazines that have to do with Valentine’s Day or the color red inside. Later we can take each picture out and talk about it.

  • Use it as a prayer stick container like the Prayer Pail Lu Bird Baby did on her blog. You have to check it out. She decorated a flower pot and then labeled tongue pressers with people she would like her family to pray for. They can pick a stick out and pray for the person on the stick that night at dinner.

  • Roll it back and forth on the floor and name a person we love each time we roll it.

  • Put treats in it and take out one treat each day as we count down to Valentine’s Day

How else can we use this container? Leave a comment letting me know what you come up with.

Muffin Tin Monday-Valentine's Day: Red Tin Part One

There isn't a theme this week for Muffin Tin Monday. Since my blog theme is Valentine's Day this week, I went ahead and did a red themed tin (next week's theme on Muffin Tin Monday). I am just calling it " Red Tin Part One".

JDaniel had hot dogs, strawberry yogurt, red pototoes, red grapes, strawberry applesauce and a little chili with red beans. I decorated with three cookie cutters I received in a Valentine's Day exchange with Country Mouse, City Mouse.
