General Mills Gift to Consumers- Less Sugar and Coupons

General Mills has made a commitment to further reduce sugar in cereals advertised to kids under 12 to single digit grams of sugar per serving. The company has already been reducing sugar in cereals while increasing key nutrients, such as calcium and vitamin D, and providing whole grain. JDaniel loves cereal. He likes Cheerios in particular.

This coupon is not for Cheerios. It is for one of Trix, Cocoa Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch or Lucky Charms. If you are like me and you don't buy a lot of sugary cereals, this might be the opportunity to try a box and see if you taste a difference.

Holiday Idea: My Aunt Sue didn't buy a lot of sugary cereals for her kids during the year. She would buy each of her children's favorite sugary cereals as part of their Christmas gifts.

Expired Coupons for Military Families Overseas

I read a blog entry on Southern Savers during the summer about sending expired coupons to military bases overseas. She decided to adopt a base in Gaeta,Italy. Apparently they are able to use them for up to six months past the expiration date on the coupon at their commissaries. Today JDaniel and I went to the post office to send off coupons gathered by my Alpha Delta Kappa sorority chapter to send to same base. Wednesday Means Time on Southernsavers.com

Southernsavers. com is my favorite website for grocery store deals. Every Wednesday the site lists the specials for several grocery stores and what coupons are available that match up with those deals. As a busy mom ,I needed something that spurred me on to use my coupons and get the best deals. This site does it every week. I have had grocery clerks ask how I saved on their store's deals. I always tell them Southernsavers.com takes a lot of the work out of saving.
