I grew up getting an Easter basket filled with candy. My mom loved to buy and sample candy around Easter time. I have shared with you that gets an alternative to an Easter basket instead. He has an egg tray that contains a few pieces of candy along with some bunny shaped cookies and fruit chews. The Easter Bunny has also left some fun toys, a book and sometimes a movie instead of loading him up on chocolate. This year the toy he will be getting is some Hot Wheels cars. Hot Wheels cars will look great displayed in his egg tray.

They will also be great to hide in some large plastic eggs around the house. We haven't done that before, but my sister Kate hides eggs around her house every year. We will be spending Easter with her family and my sister Shell. It will be fun to add this new tradition to JDaniel's Easter routine.
After celebrating Easter at my sister's house, we will be visiting a cabin in a state park. I think these Hot Wheels cars will be very entertaining during your indoor time. We will have four boys under 12 with us. I can see them using them on highways and jumps they create. They may even end up creating paths through the trees for them.
Would you like a set to add to your special child's Easter basket?
Here is how to win a 10 pack of Hot Wheels cars?
a Rafflecopter giveaway
Mattel has set up a started a new campaign called " Save the Chocolate Bunny" to promote giving toys instead of chocolate. You can visit the Mattel Save the Bunny website where you can find coupons and other giveaway information.
Disclaimer: The actual set of cars may vary from the one pictured above. I am being compensated for this post. I will be adding to Hot Wheels cars to JDaniel's Easter tray. If we do end up making track for the cars through the woods, I promised I will take pictures of them.

What a neat idea! I was just thinking about how to avoid giving a lot of candy- we normally give a toy and a little candy, but each year I've noticed we've become more and more generous with the junk candy! I was even thinking of making my own candy so I could at least control what was in the candy, but I really love your idea...I think I'll have to share this on my C&C FB Page... :) Thank you!!!

ReplyDeleteEaster is one of my favorite holidays and I love the ideas that are not candy. I try to do different things so that Candy isn't the main thing in the baskets.
