I drew the hearts on the paper. JDaniel helped with coloring and adding stickers to this oatmeal container.
Now what can we do with it?
- Fill it with a present for my husband
- Line it with a plastic bag that comes with the newspaper and make it a vase
- Put pictures we find in magazines that have to do with Valentine’s Day or the color red inside. Later we can take each picture out and talk about it.
- Use it as a prayer stick container like the Prayer Pail Lu Bird Baby did on her blog. You have to check it out. She decorated a flower pot and then labeled tongue pressers with people she would like her family to pray for. They can pick a stick out and pray for the person on the stick that night at dinner.
- Roll it back and forth on the floor and name a person we love each time we roll it.
- Put treats in it and take out one treat each day as we count down to Valentine’s Day
How else can we use this container? Leave a comment letting me know what you come up with.

ReplyDeletePut a loving comment in each day until Valentines Day then read them on the 14th!
ReplyDeleteOh, what a great job he did. It looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteThat came out cute. I like the rolling back and forth and naming people you love idea!
ReplyDeleteVery cute idea! He did a nice job! :)
ReplyDeleteWrite down various ways God loves you... read one each day.
ReplyDeleteMy immediate thought was to make oatmeal raisin cookies inside and send them to work with Dad. Another idea, you could put dry pasta or beans inside and make it into a shaker. What a fun project!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I do admire crafty folks like you guys! :0)

ReplyDeleteI checked out the Prayer Pail and can't wait to do it with my daughter. Thanks for sharing the good stuff!
My husband has one on his desk that my kids wrapped in yarn (after I cut about the top 1/3 off). He keeps pens and pencils in it and has for about 13 years!
ReplyDelete"Wow! I thought I had received a number of awards. I guess I have great taste in blog. Others agree with me."
ReplyDeleteHaha well they have been over a matter of several months. I figured I better give the poor ladies who gave them to me some recognition!
Looks like a fun project you got there!
Ack, this post is making me seriously question my own creativity! I like all your ideas though...
