Guest Post: Sharon Welch-Thankful Turkey Tag

How do you play:

1. Draw a large turkey and place on the wall. Choose a tagger or two for the game.

2. When you get tagged, you will go and write on the turkey something that you are thankful for.

3. To speed it up in PE class I usually do the writing for them. They stand in line and tell me what to write on the turkey then go back into the game.

4. To reuse the turkey laminate it first and use washable markers.

Sharon Welch has taught Loudoun County, VA for nineteen years. She is currently a physical education teacher at Sanders Corner Elementary. Sharon received the Shenandoah University Teacher of the Year Award. Sharon Welch has served the Virginia Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance as the Elementary Physical Education Chairperson, the Outstanding Physical Education Program Committee and the Vice President for the Physical Education Division. She shares with other teachers through publications, workshops, presentations at state, regional and national conventions.

We taught together for a number of years. She is the best at integrating content area concepts with p.e. I have ever known.
